dance OREMUS danse presents a major production "Zéphyr, Vent de l'Amour" of opera excerpts by Jean-Philippe Rameau & Christoph Willibald Gluck. The Choreography is by Isadora Duncan (1877-1927), Jeanne Bresciani and Paul-James Dwyer. The dancers are J. Bresciani, P.-J. Dwyer, Catherine Tsuji and Michiyo Sato. Ms. Tsuji and Ms. Sato are both making their Canadian debut.

Featuring a premiere performance of a new Baroque orchestra, Ensemble Les Muses réunies. Conducted by Michael Feldman, who is one of the foremost conductors for dance. Mr. Feldman has worked with Mark Morris, Bill T. Jones, Twyla Tharpe and Pina Bausch. The singers are French Soprano Isabelle Desrochers, and Tenor Colin Ainsworth.

Choose from the three performances presenting excerpts from "Les Boréades" (1763), the last opera by Rameau, and the four major operas of Gluck, "Orphée et Eurydice', "Iphigénie en Tauride", "Armide" and "Iphigénie en Aulide". dance OREMUS danse has commissioned a Modern Edition of the Rameau opera from Frank Nakashima who recently Edited the Lully opera "Persée"for Opera Atelier.

Artistic Biographies:

Jeanne Bresciani, Choreographer
Artistic Director of the I.D.I.I., is a choreographer, dancer, teacher, writer, lecturer, administrator, tour director specializing in the mytho-poetic, movement analysis and imaginal psychotherapy. Ms. Bresciani is based in New York City.

Paul-James Dwyer, Choreographer
Founder/Artistic Director of dance OREMUS danse is a choreographer, dancer, writer, archivist, researcher, critic, producer and administrator in Duncan Dance.

Michiyo Sato, Dancer
From Tokyo, Japan, she has performed all over USA and her homeland. Ms. Sato is the Japanese rep. of the IDII, and is a member of the IDII Dancers. She will dance this September in London, at the British Museum.

Catherine Tsuji, Dancer
A native of New York, Ms. Tsuji has studied Duncan dance since childhood and is a member of the IDII Dancers. She has danced and taught extensively in Russia, Siberia and Mongolia.

Isabelle Desrochers, Soprano
Originally from Montréal, Ms. Desrochers now lives in Paris. Considered a specialist in the field of baroque rhetorical gesture, her recent recordings include works by Delalande, Couperin, Jacquet de la Guerre.

Colin Ainsworth, Tenor
Studied at U. of Western Ontario and U. of T. in the studio of Darryl Edwards. Recent performances include a tour with the ARADIA Ensemble to New Zealand and a recital with the Alderburgh Connection.

Michael Feldman, Conductor
Founder of St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble, Co-Founder New York Collegium. Mr. Feldman is a former guest artistic director of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and general manager of Naxos records. He currently lives in NYC.
